The St. Joseph Planning/Study Committee began meeting December 6, 2007, at the direction of the Pastoral Council, Finance Council, and Father Thome. Monthly meetings, open to all parishoners, were held to plan for the future needs of our parish. The largest concern was the construction of a new St. Joseph Church to accommodate the consolidation of Masses. Much progress was made at those meetings. Sub-committees: Communications; Design; Permitting, Construction and Contracting; and Finance, were asigned to the members with experience in these related fields. Every effort and detail is being considered to meet our parish needs. Preliminary designs for a new church were supplied from architect, George P. Moutsatson, AIA. Current plans are from Kerridge Architecture & Construction. The concerns from parishioners regarding the preservation of key elements from our current church are carefully being balanced with the anticipated future needs of our parish, and those requirements of our Bishop and Vatican. |
